Master List

Timothy

Here is a list of all my fiction (primarily fanfiction) and commentaries. Please do enjoy! Mind that there is some explicit adult content in my journal, and every piece of fic is clearly labled with American movie ratings (G, PG, PG-13, R, NC-17) as well as with other warnings. If something is not your bag, or you're underage, don't read it!

My friending policy can be found below as well.

The Master List is currently under construction as I finish organizing my Journal and ‘porting over stories from FF.net and AFF.net.

Auction To Support A Good Cause!

(I'm stealing [info]perdiccas' pimp post. Hope you don't mind sweetie!)

[info]megmatthews20 is an awesome person and a great writer. However, she's currently dealing with a heavy issue and is in need of some help. Let her explain it in her own words.

[info]megmatthews20 in [info]hope_in_sight: I was born with Marfan Syndrome, a connective tissue disorder. The connective tissue in my body is weaker than the average person's, and therefore I was never allowed to play in sports or run because my aortic valve was dangerously prone to dissection. I will also never be able to deep sea dive or go sky diving or mountain climbing because people with Marfans are also prone to spontaneous pneumothorax (lung collapsing) and the risk is too great. I've learned to live with the health set-backs...

But I've always been particularly upset by the affect Marfans has had upon my eyes. The tissue in my eyes cannot hold the lenses in place like normal healthy eyes can, so my lenses float, moving every year, and drastically changing my vision. With my glasses on, the best I have ever been able to see is 20/40. I sit in the front of the class and am unable to read anything written on the blackboard or the overhead. I can't see more than a handful of stars in the sky even on the darkest night. And I can't tell that someone is waving at me from across the room...

I know that this has held me back in a lot of ways all of my life. I even had to take an extra year in grade school because of it. I want to change all that with a surgery that will give me the ability to see so much more with a clarity and precision that I've only ever dreamed about.

That is where the funds come in. I have already paid off my left eye surgery (unless something unexpected should occur during the procedure and I have to pay more money).

I need funds to pay off my right eye surgery, which will be at least $1525 dollars since it includes an extra charge for correcting my right eye's astigmatism.

I have no money this year. I spent the last three years working as a caregiver for my mom. I had to drop out of school this year to be around her full time when her cancer came roaring back with a vengeance. She passed away in October and my sister and I were left with no money and no life insurance. I just spent my last funds getting back into school and my bank account is down to about a hundred dollars.

How can you help?

In three ways:
1) SELL YOURSELVES, YOU WHORES! Anything and everything goes, fanart, fanfic, podfics, home baked brownies, strippergrams, icons, LJ layouts, yourself as a slave for a week, second hand books & DVDs. Can you crochet? Make earrings? Read palms? Fanvid? Every little bit helps, so offer yourself up to the masses and let them have their way with you. :)

2) PIMP!!! Whores are only as successful as their pimps, and we really need to spread the word far and wide. Are you active in fandoms beyond Heroes? Encourage your flist to join in the fun and goodwill. Post to comms (with mod permission of course). Drag people in off the street and get them LJ accounts to take part!

3) SHOW! ME! THE! MONEY! The bidding will run from Dec 1 - Dec 11th. Buy, buy, buy as much as you can. Bidding wars are totes encouraged. Skip your latte for the week and throw that money at the auction instead. It's a super good cause for a super good person who deserves some happiness to round out a dismal 2009.

BUY ME!

I am selling myself three times over. I'm easy but I'm not cheap! ;-)

1. Heroes fanfiction of at least 1500 words. DETAILS
2. Any fandom fanfiction, or crossover, or sequel of at least 1500 words. DETAILS
3. Platter of homemade cookies and candies for the holidays! Or, you know, just for eating. Because they're cookies, and they're good for that whole eating thing. (You know you want some.) DETAILS

A heap of questions and several instances of choked-up Jaune.

Word Meme

It's a Word Meme! [info]perdiccas gave me five words that remind her of me. Now I must talk about them.

1. Incest - I somehow managed to get into two fandoms at the same time that has extensive fic with incestous brothers, namely Heroes and Supernatural. Why? Because the brothers are hot. And particularly in Heroes, they touch. A lot. In a very suggestive manner. In both fandoms there is angst galore, mutual saving of each other's lives, heartfelt confessions, and mutual destiny. That's more interaction than some canon het couples get in six seasons. So, in the safety of my fandoms, yeah, I ship that.

2. Cats - I love them! My own Timothy was literally a lifesaver to me at one low point in my life. They're warm, fuzzy, and my own cat is adorably affectionate, delightfully playful, and quirkily bizarre. If two members of my family hadn't been allergic, I would have asked for one growing up. As it was, it was less than a month after I'd gotten my first apartment that allowed pets when I got Timmy from a rescue group. Everyone needs a friendly cat in their life! I'm also a shameless admirer of CuteOverload and ICanHasCheezburger.

3. Pinch hitting - I tend to do that a lot. I did that before I got laid off because I had a strange schedule that gave me days off at a time (though I worked 12-hour shifts) and I was on the night shift, so I had plenty of writing time. I pinch-hit now because I'm still out of work and have even more writing time! Also, I have an overactive muse and don't mind writing to spec. And, well, because everyone deserves the fic they were promised!

4. Maturity - I'm 28, going to be 29 next month, so I think I'm one of the older people in all of my fandoms. After almost three decades on this spinning ball of dirt, I think I can safely say that experienced gained is a good thing. Don't fear it.

5. Insight - I has it. I like to think I'm a good listener and observer. I was always the quiet kid in class, the one that watched everyone. I do a lot of that even still, and will sometimes bust out answers no one expected me to have. I tend to remember the oddest things.

DVD Commentary Meme!

PayingAttention - Dr.Zoidberg
I stole this from [info]ewinfic, who stole it from [info]bellonablack and now it's mine! Because I like talking about myself. ;-D

"Pick a paragraph (or any passage less than 500 words) from any fanfic I've written, and comment to this post with that selection (and a fic/chapter title, please). I will then give you a DVD commentary on that snippet: what I was thinking when I wrote it, why I wrote it in the first place, what's going on in the character's heads, why I chose certain words, what this moment means in the context of the rest of the fic, lots of awful puns, and anything else that you'd expect to find on a DVD commentary track."

I can't promise it will be totally fascinating, and you might get one of those sections of the commentary when the director is just sitting in silence or babbles on about her cat or something, but you could get lucky! Play as many times as you like!

Writer's Block: Here's looking at you

What is your all-time favorite, romantic movie scene? What about it speaks to you?

Oh, this is an easy one. Lloyd Dobler holding a boom box over his head playing Peter Gabriel's "In Your Eyes" outside of Diane Court's house in the pouring rain in "Say Anything." Best romantic movie scene ever, because it's emotional and says so much about both characters without even saying a lot. It's both obvious and very subtle, and the music choice is aces.

If your romantic partner told you that, given the chance, he or she would sleep with a celebrity/public figure you disrespect, would you be amused, jealous, or bewildered? How would they react if the situation were reversed?

This question I'm going to answer kind of by not answering it, but answering it. Thusly confused, let me proceed.

Everyone has The List. You may not realize it, but you have it too. I have The List, my husband has The List, everyone has The List. The List is the list of celebrities that, given the opportunity, you'd totally hit. Some of them are obvious, the conventionally attractive people that almost anyone would hit. Some are inexplicable or impossible, "This dude, but twenty years ago. This guy, but I know he's gay. I'd still hit him." (Yes, John Barrowman's on my list, and I'm unabashed about it.) Some are totally random. An actor with beautiful eyes but appalling manners. A singer with a great ass but a dirty mouth.

Sexual attraction, however inexplicable, is the only thing that puts someone on The List. I don't begrudge by hubby his strange choices on his List, and he only quirks a vague brow at the strange selections on mine. I mean, come on, it's not like either of us is going to get a chance to have a wacky sex party with half of Hollywood, so what's the harm in putting whoever you want on your List?

To answer the question, my reaction is amusement. So is his. Because life's too short to obsess over the The List.
