Looking back, did I write more fic than I thought I would this year, less, or about what I'd predicted?
Less than I predicted. I had two months were I didn’t write a blessed thing, and other months were I only got one or two things up. I had a bad couple of months this year, and that was not contusive to writing.

What pairing/genre/fandom did I write that I would never have predicted in January?
Well, when I started kicking around at comment_fic, I began writing fandoms I’d never even considered, including Castle, WALL-E, Toy Story, Star Trek: Voyager, CSI: NY, and Iron Man (movie). I also ventured out into Fringe fic this year, and did a lot more crossovers for a wide variety of fandoms than I have in the past.

What's my own favorite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes me happiest?
Ten Miles High And Falling Fast, a Supernatural Dean/Castiel (NC-17) piece I did for tiptoe39’s birthday. I wrote that fairly quickly at a late hour of the night, but it came out very poetical and lovely.

What is my most popular story?
By comment count, I believe it’s For Medicinal Purposes, a Supernatural Sam/Dean fic (NC-17). It was a sexy little piece that bit my brain at work one day for no particular reason, and turned into this hot crack!fic that fills the plot hole of why the Supernatural boys always look pretty even though they’re getting beaten or clawed up every week.

Did I take any writing risks this year? What did I learn from them?
My foray into comment_fic was to see if I could train myself to write short stories, instead of everything turning into an epic in my head. It was after that that I began to get into the Last Author Standing communities, after I discovered that yes, it is possible to emotionally satisfy myself with short fic.

Do I have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year?
I still have things from Sweet Charity that I need to get done, and I still need to write that Sky High epic sequel that I meant to do this year and didn’t.

From my past year of writing, what was...
My Best Story:

Echoes of Me, Part 1 and Echoes of Me, Part 2 - This is a crossover between Criminal Minds and Dollhouse, a Reid/Echo story. I was bought to produce this for help_haiti, and though it took me a long time to do, I think it came out really, really well. This story was planned, plotted, discussed, approved, researched and written within an inch of its life, and I think it came out pretty sweet.

As a secondary choice for that: Get Your Money’s Worth - Heroes, Luke/Lyle, Claire, West, NC-17. The world-building I did for this slave!AU really made me happy, to the point of doing extras and a sequel, which isn’t something I always do.

Story Most Underappreciated by the Universe:
The Brisbane Event. I wrote this Criminal Minds AU for the au_bigbang, which was why there wasn’t any fic in the months immediately preceding it. I was also in a big emotional downturn during much of my allotted writing time, so a lot of this fic was written during short time periods when I was actually motivated. Because I was Last-Minute Larry in writing it, my artist basically defaulted, I had very little time for it to be betaed, and I find myself editing it here and there even now. It contains a pretty drastic world change and a lot of OCs that I have had in my mind for years, and I’ve gotten very few comments on it. And when it was the dominating fic of my writing for three months, it is disheartening to realize that few found it to their taste.

Most Fun:
One of my comment fics, a Supernatural Sam and Dean for the prompt: the sum of all fears, clowns on a plane. Get These Mothertrucking Clowns off this Mothertrucking Plane!. Because that was a freaking hilarious prompt!

Most Disappointing:
Wildcat. This was a comment fic, where Sam is turned into a girl to be used as a virgin sacrifice, and Gabriel relieves her of her virginity to save her. It was supposed to be both funnier and sexier than I intended, and didn’t quite meet my expectations.

Most Sexy:
Another comment fic, for Dean/Cas, multiorgasmic men (Power and Light). I do love multiple orgasms, so this was right up my alley.

Story that made me cry:
Light Not Hidden Under A Bushel. Heroes, Micah and Monica trying to spread Christmas cheer during their first Christmas after Niki’s death. Not a huge sobbing story, but it does make me a little misty.

Story with the sweetest moment:
Strangely enough, Summer Storm. This was also a comment fic, with Janeway showing Seven of Nine the various seasons on the holodeck. It doesn’t hit you over the head with sugar, but the ladies have a real moment of connection together that really makes me say “aww.”

"Holy crap, that's wrong, even for you" story:
I do have a lot of twisted, freaky stuff on my LJ, but probably the one with the most warnings on it for both physical and psychological “what? Seriously, what?” would be Pick Your Poison - Heroes, Nathan/Angela, NC-17. Angela manipulates Nathan into giving himself to her in order for him to spare Peter a worse fate. Yeah, it’s pretty fucked up. And it includes bondage, toys, Viagra, and all kinds of kinky, dubcon sexxors.

This year's theme and the story that demonstrates it most:
All things are good. All things are better together. I did a lot of crossovers this year, and dipped my toes in a lot of fandoms, and I found them fine. I am less afraid to cross fandom boundaries now!

Most Unintentionally Telling:
The Thrift Store. This is a short original fiction story I did for originalfic_las for the prompt “midlife crisis.” It’s a conversation between a rocking chair and a teapot. While this doesn’t have a lot of philosophy in it, it’s very personal in the fact that my whole family likes antiques and/or finding things at thrift stores, so it has some of my view on the value of things in our lives.
